Frequently Asked Questions
What's included in the Garmin GPSMAP 1222 + LiveScope Plus LVS34 bundle?
Every component you need to put a 12-inch Garmin chartplotter with full LiveScope Plus capability on your boat: the GPSMAP 1222 chartplotter, the LVS34 transducer, the GLS 10 sonar black box, all three transducer mounts (perspective, trolling motor barrel, shaft), power cables, the NMEA 2000 T-connector and drop cable, the Garmin Marine Network cable, the network adapter cable, the bail mount, flush mount kit, protective cover, trim piece snap covers, and documentation.
What's the difference between LiveScope Plus (LVS34) and the original LiveScope (LVS32)?
The LVS34 transducer delivers sharper images, reduced sonar noise, better target separation, and built-in image stabilization compared to the original LVS32. Both transducers run on the same GLS 10 sonar black box, so the only hardware change is the transducer itself. If you already own a GLS 10, you can upgrade to LiveScope Plus by replacing just the transducer.
Will the LVS34 transducer work with my existing GLS 10 black box?
Yes. The LVS34 is plug-and-play with any existing GLS 10. This bundle is the right pick if you need both the chartplotter and the full LiveScope Plus system. If you already have a GLS 10 from an older LVS32 setup, you only need the transducer by itself.
Does the GPSMAP 1222 have built-in sonar?
No — the GPSMAP 1222 is a "keyed networking" chartplotter with no internal sonar. That's why this bundle includes the GLS 10 black box: it handles all LiveScope sonar processing and connects to the 1222 over Garmin Marine Network. If you want a chartplotter with built-in CHIRP and SideVü sonar, look at the ECHOMAP Ultra 2 12" LiveScope Plus Bundle instead.
Can I add radar, autopilot, or additional transducers later?
Yes. The 1222 has 2 Garmin Marine Network ports plus NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 connectivity. It supports Garmin GMR Fantom and xHD2 radar, Reactor 40 autopilot, additional GT-series transducers, other Panoptix transducers, FUSION-Link audio, AIS, VHF, digital switching, and more. Build out the system over time as your needs grow.
What's your return policy and warranty on this bundle?
We offer a 30-day return policy on this bundle. Each Garmin component carries Garmin's standard 1-year manufacturer warranty against defects. Free 2-day shipping is included on the outbound order.
