Compatibility & control

The ORA TIX404 is a simple 2-wire on/off light. It is controlled by a customer-supplied switch and does not require or support the EOS-LUX Command Center, Lumi-DMX, or MFD integration in its standard configuration. Is the TIX404 an underwater camera or a light?
The TIX404 is an underwater light, not a camera. The Lumishore Lumi-Cam (TIX402, MPN 010-04355-00) is the underwater camera product that uses the same 88 mm thru-hull housing. The ORA TIX404 produces white light only; it has no video output.

What's the difference between the ORA TIX404 and the EOS TIX404?
The ORA TIX404 is single-color white only, controlled by a simple on/off switch, with no MFD integration capability. The EOS TIX404 (010-04529-00) is full RGBW color-changing with Lumi-DMX and full EOS-LUX Command Center / MFD / Wi-Fi control. Both use the same 88 mm marine bronze thru-hull housing and the same interchangeable cartridge format.

Can I service or replace the LED cartridge without hauling the boat?
Yes. The TIX404's LED array and driver are a self-contained cartridge removable from inside the hull — no haul-out, no diver, and no water enters the hull during the swap.

What hull hole size do I need?
Drill a 57 mm (2.25") hole for a standard fibreglass hull. If installing a Delrin Isolation Sleeve (60-0210) for metal or carbon fibre hulls, drill 64 mm (2.5"). Confirm hull thickness allows the 136 mm shaft plus interior nut clearance before drilling.

Do I need to bond the TIX404 to the boat's DC bonding system?
Yes. Bonding is required to protect against galvanic corrosion. Connect the bonding wire per the installation manual instructions.

How many ORA TIX404s do I need?
Space lights 2.5–3 ft (center-to-center) for consistent, overlapping underwater light pools. Most boats under 30 ft use two; larger boats typically use three or more per side.
