Does the LVS44 require the GLS 10 black box? No. The LiveScope 2 LVS44 connects directly to a compatible chartplotter and power source — no GLS 10 sonar module is required.

What’s the maximum depth the LVS44 can scan? 250 ft bottom track in both Down and Forward modes — the longest range of any Garmin LiveScope transducer to date.

What’s the difference between the LVS44 and the LVS42HD? The LVS44 uses a 600–1050 kHz frequency for maximum range (250 ft). The LVS42HD uses a higher 850–1600 kHz frequency for ultra-HD detail at closer range (125 ft). Choose LVS44 for long-range scouting; LVS42HD for maximum resolution near the boat.

Can I upgrade from LVS32 or LVS34 to the LVS44? Yes, if your chartplotter is on the compatibility list and supports LiveScope 2 (a software update may be required). You can swap the transducer and remove the GLS 10 black box entirely.
