Compatibility & control

The LUX SL180 requires a Lumishore LUX Strip Light Driver to operate — it cannot be wired directly to a battery or standard LED dimmer. The voltage-stabilised driver (60-0383 / 010-04383-00) accepts 10.5–31 V DC and handles both 12 V and 24 V vessels. For MFD or smart device control, add the EOS-LUX Command Center (60-0366) to enable zone naming, scene programming, and integration with:

Frequently asked questions

Does the SL180 strip light need a driver?
Yes. The SL180 runs at 23–25 V DC and must be powered by a Lumishore LUX Strip Light Driver. The voltage-stabilised driver (60-0383) accepts 10.5–31 V DC input and is compatible with both 12 V and 24 V boats. Do not connect the strip directly to your battery or any third-party driver — this voids the warranty.

Can I cut this strip to a shorter length?
No. This is a standard factory-sealed SL180. Cutting breaks the IP68 seal and voids the warranty. If you need a custom field-cuttable length, order the LUX SL180 Cut & Seal version, which includes a silicone sealing kit and factory-cut connectors at marked intervals.

How many 600 mm strips can I run on one driver?
Each driver handles up to 10 m total strip length. For 600 mm strips that is up to 16 strips per driver (if that is your only load). Combine lengths from multiple strips as long as the total does not exceed 10 m.

Can I bend the SL180 around corners?
The SL180 bends in the vertical axis only (minimum 50 mm radius) — not horizontally. For installations requiring horizontal side-bends around curved surfaces, use the LUX SNL180 Neon Flex, which is specifically designed for side-bending with a 120 mm minimum radius.

Is the LUX SL180 compatible with my Garmin MFD?
With the EOS-LUX Command Center (60-0366) added, yes. The strip light driver connects to the EOS-LUX Command Center, which then interfaces with Garmin MFDs and other major brands. Switch-only operation works without the Command Center.

What's the warranty on the LUX SL180?
Lumishore covers the SL180 with a 3-year warranty. MyGreenOutdoors is a Garmin and Lumishore authorized dealer and can support warranty requests.

Is this suitable for underwater use?
No. The LUX SL180 is rated for above-water indoor and outdoor installation only. Although it is IP68-rated (immersion-tolerant), Lumishore's installation guide specifies it is not designed for permanent submersion.
